Victoria sendiri pertama kali bertemu Pangeran Albert sekitar satu tahun sebelum ia naik tahta menjadi ratu Inggris. Baru tiga tahun kemudian Victoria dan Albert resmi menjadi suami-istri saat keduanya menikah di Chapel Royal of St. James's Palace di London. Dari pernikahan ini Ratu Victoria dan Pangeran Albert dikaruniai sembilan orang anak namun sayangnya pernikahan ini tak berumur panjang.
