After Bade falls out of favor of Member of Parliament, Verma, he is arrested, held in a cell without any trial, and is humiliated and beaten everyday. His brother Chhotte and others conspire to secure his release by kidnapping Verma's to-be son-in-law, Shyam Singhania. Things do not go exactly as planned and Priti, Shyam's girlfriend, also gets abducted. In order to ensure Shyam's safety, she agrees to liaise between Verma and the gangsters - not knowing that she has an admirer who will do anything for her. She meets with Shyam's father as well as Verma but may end up endangering everyone's lives especially after Verma makes it clear that he will not negotiate Bade's release under any circumstance.

Dalam hati Mitchell (Colin Farrell) sudah berjanji. Ia tak akan mau kembali ke dalam penjara. Ia tahu persis bagaimana rasanya hidup di dalam penjara dan saat ia meraih kebebasan seperti sekarang ini, ia tak ingin melepasnya lagi. Mitchell tak mau kembali ke dalam penjara.Nasib kemudian mempertemukan Mitchell dengan seorang aktris muda bernama Charlotte (Keira Knightley). Charlotte ingin menyewa Mitchell menjadi pengawal pribadinya. Bukan hanya itu, Charlotte juga ingin Mitchell menjadi orang kepercayaannya dan menjadi asisten pribadi Charlotte. Mitchell menganggap ini adalah peluang untuk bisa menjauhkan diri dari penjara. Apalagi bayaran yang ditawarkan Charlotte cukup menggiurkan. Sayangnya, dunia kejahatan sepertinya tak mau membiarkan Mitchell pergi begitu saja. Dalam sekejap mata, hubungan Mitchell dan Charlotte sudah jadi lebih dari sekedar majikan dan bawahan. After a bloody invasion of the BOPE in the High-Security Penitentiary Bangu 1 in Rio de Janeiro to control a rebellion of interns, the Lieutenant-Colonel Roberto Nascimento and the second in command Captain André Matias are accused by the Human Right Aids member Diogo Fraga of execution of prisoners. Matias is transferred to the corrupted Military Police and Nascimento is exonerated from the BOPE by the Governor. However, due to the increasing popularity of Nascimento, the Governor invites him to team-up with the intelligence area of the Secretary of Security. Along the years, Fraga, who is married with Nascimento's former wife, is elected State Representative and Nascimento's son Rafael has issues with his biological father. Meanwhile Nascimento and the BOPE expel the drug dealers from several slums but another enemy arises: the militia led by Major Rocha and supported by the Governor, the Secretary of Security and politicians interested in votes...
